Louise, from Whales

I had a wonderful and nurturing time with Iris and David at their place. Pit and I were the first volunteers and they welcomed us with open arms. We practiced meditation, pranayama or mantra together every morning which was a perfect start to the day. I was doing work mainly on social media and helping to build their internet presence to attract new members. we also all spent the day planting Cacao together with a big team of locals which was a beautiful time spent with people from all walks of life. We visited at the very beginning of the project and it has been so interesting to see the building of a community and what is involved, including the challenges!
Iris and David are so kind and warm and really look after you. I was sad to not have stayed longer and I was especially sad to leave the cutest sweetest dog Mixto. If I am to return to Ecuador in the future then I will definitely return to see them and the incredible village they are building as a community.

We had the unique opportunity to stay. And i can recommend it without any doubt.
David and Iris were always looking for us and made sure that we had enough food and had a good time.
We had a morning meditation every day and learned in the afternoons about yoga, tantra and thai chi. One time i joined them to swim in the river.
We could always choose what project we wanted to work on.
So we we planted cacao, i installed light and an opportuninty to run a generator. David and Iris were always supportive if i needed some equipment or material. And i had a lot freedom in my work to do my own decisions.
One of the best things for me was the contact to the local people that are working there to build the place.
Even though my spanish is basic, i had very interesting insights into the local culture.
And the dog Mixto
such a lovely little dog.
He will be your best friend if you take him for a hike.

Celeste, from California

Banana trees and brilliant rivers greeted me when I awoke on the overnight bus from Cuenca to Esmeraldas. The landscape was something I had seen before in blurry visions; now here I was soaring by the coastal jungle at 100 kilometers per hour, the view just a bit clearer.

I slipped through the herringbone gate and made my way down the path, the sound of the bus driver's samba reverberating in my head. Iris embraced me and it felt as though I was returning home. A genuine, welcoming presence met with confident individuality--this was the authentic human connection I had caught brief glimpses of before. The tune I had been mindlessly humming was now a full blown symphony. It was too much for the thinking brain to handle. I passed out in a hammock after sweet Jhosy graciously fixed me lunch, with the black kitten stretched out next to me.

Over the next few days I began to internalize the rhythm of the group. Rise at 5:45 for morning meditation and yoga, eat a nourishing breakfast, tasks begin, eat and digest lunch and the day thus far, work a bit more and play in the river, snack on dinner and close the evening with dance. The pacing was beautiful and even more powerful when done in tandem with iridescent souls. Thank you for this vision and I look forward to coming back.
