5 day Retreat Introduction:

This unique Shamanism and Yoga Retreat will open your eyes to the life in the community of Durga’s Tiger Land, close to Rio Verde (Esmeraldas, Ecuador), not as a tourist but as a guest. Our Community is located at the Ecuadorian Coast. We are close to beautiful beaches and a clean River to swim in middle of the coastal jungle.

In this way, our retreat will be focused on connecting Shamanism, Tantra Yoga & Meditation to create a sacred space for healing and transformation. There will be an Introduction into shamanism and the work with powerplants like Yage/ Ayahuasca. There will be an Introduction into the Tantra Yoga and Meditation practice.

As part of our Shamanism & Yoga retreat we offer the opportunity to explore the healing powers of the sacred Yage medicine in two ceremonies in a safe set & setting for this beautiful, visionary and healing experience. After the powerplant ceremonies there will be space for integration and talking Circles to round up the process.

Listen for the call of the plant spirits to awaken your heart: Yage is a visionary drink created with the combination of two plants. The Yage Vine & the Yage Uku leave. Yage has been used by the shamanic socio-cultures in the amazon for healing and transformation since they remember.

On Durga’s Tiger Land the Spirits of the earth, the plants and the animals are still incredibly alive. The jungle symphony in the night, the sound of the river and the wind in the trees, all that makes it a sacred place. You are invited to connect with the sacred medicine Yage in its own habitat. This retreat is led by Malin Wind Disse together with he’s heart team. He is Neo Shaman, Tantric, Yogi, Anthropologist and actual leader of the Durga’s Tiger School 200hrs, 300hrs and 500hrs Teacher Trainings (Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance International certified) in Ecuador.

Imagine: The gentle breathing “Green River” with his warm water cleanses & awakens my inner child. A sacred grove of old “Saman” trees invites you to meditate and connect with the birds & elemental spirits.

In our powerplant ceremonies, we will be working with the tradition of the A’í or Cofán Socio-culture, coming from the Ecuadorian Amazon. This is the tradition where Wind has been learning as an Apprentice since more than 15 years with the master Shaman Don Avelino Quenama. Wind has received the permission to do his own Power Plant ceremonies and invite others into this sacred tradition. Since then he has been guiding ceremonies with the medicine of the yage/ ayahuasca holding space for healing and for transformation.

The lifestyle of the DTL community is aligned with the principles of “buen vivir” or the “good living”, exemplified by living the simple life, one that is not defined by things to possess; but emphasizes the connection from within to the Great Spirit. A connection that can be found living close with Pachamama; and honoring this Earth as a living being.

Accommodation will be provided by DTL. You can book shared dormitory or Camping.  There is space to hang our hammocks if you choose to bring one.

The food will be vegetarian and it will be prepared with love directly by the DTL cooking team.

Assistant & Teacher: Roberto Calderon

Roberto Calderón was born in Quito, Ecuador. Roberto has always been looking for the all world´s ancient techniques of self-realization. He has practiced Zen and Vipassana Meditation, Hatha Yoga, Feng Shui, Reiky and Acupuncture since a very young age. His later studies included: Mesoamerican calendars, I Ching (Geomancy), and Classical Philosophy.

Roberto has done 3 Vision Quests so far in the “Camino Rojo” (Red Path); it is a shamanic tradition that arrived from North America over than 20 years ago to our country and it has an alternative design that mixes both South and North American ceremonies and sacred medicines. In January of 2015 Roberto joined the CEIT the “Traditional Yogas` Studies Center”. This School has very ancient roots in the Tantric Yoga Traditions of southern India and was brought to us by European teachers who have more than 40 years of experience educating and giving yoga teacher´s degrees all around Europe based from their direct experience with Gurudji Thabovan and in coordination with the “Traditional Yogas` Federation in France”. This teachers´ formation lasts 3 years so Roberto is ready to share the original practice of this unstopped line of masters that can be traced back to Patanjali and his gift to the world: “The Yoga Sutras”.
